What did you just say?

When Corey and I first got married we both agreed that we would wait 3 years before talking about trying to have kids. Well we didn't not talk about kids for 3 years. Things would come up that we would see the young parents around us do, and we would talk about whether or not we would do the same with our children some day. So we have had some good discussions about having kids and discipline. I told Corey that I wouldn't push him to have kids, but when he was ready I would be too. We have recently celebrated our youngest nieces first birthday. I love all of our nieces and nephews, but Corey especially loves Sarah (who turned one) because she likes him more then me, for now at least. Sarah loves to cuddle and snuggle with people. I think this is around the time that Corey started to really think about having kids of his own. I believe it was the following Sunday that Corey told me that he was ready for us to start trying to have kids. I believe my mouth dropped and I said "What did you say?". Corey always has a way of surprising me. At this time I think I start to hyperventilate. I knew I always wanted to have kids, but that actual idea of that coming to a reality was scary to me. So I waited a fews weeks for the shock to pass and then we started talking about it more. We decided for me to go off of birth control at the beginning of May.
I have heard that if you are irregular prior to going on birth control that you would still be irregular after going off of birth control. So we knew that there was the possibility that is was going to take us a while to get pregnant, and we were ok with that. Now the next thing to do was to tell our parents that we were trying so that they wouldn't be in complete shock when we told them we were pregnate. Since our kid wouldn't be their first grandchild on either side we didn't feel the need to surprise them.

How it all started......

Corey and I were married on June 9, 2007. We have enjoyed getting to know each other more and grow in our relationship together. I am by no means and expert on marriage, I actually think it took us two year to figure out of to fight fairly. Our marriage has been fun and challenging at times, but I wouldn't change it for anything. Everything we have gone through has made us stronger and made us love each other more and more each day.

Now as to way I have decided to blog. I have always felt as though blogs are just a persons way of making something all about them. Well my opinions have changed for as to why some blogs are worth reading. Mine will only be worth reading for family members and maybe friends. But I want our extended family to be able to catch up on what's going on in our lives and this is a great way to do that. I also love the idea of making a photo/blog album at the end of the year, so much easier than scrapbooking.
